CURS Moon Party, 3 February

Feb 3, 2007   //   by councillor   //   Uncategorized  //  No Comments

Russian Moon Party is dedicated to the undeservedly forgotten achievement of the Soviet space engineering, which happened on 3 February 1966:

THE FIRST SOFT LANDING OF THE SOVIET AUTOMATIC SPAСE STATION LUNA-9 (‘Moon-9′)

The Space Station made first images of the Moon landscape and transmitted them back to the Earth. We invite you to an unforgettable celebration of that daring undertaking!

  • WHERE: The Cambridge Union Club
  • WHEN: 3 February, 7-12pm
  • PRICE: Free (donations are welcome!:))

You will experience the most unique and exquisite space-flight accompanied by progressive and ‘outer space’ music (including Russian hits). We will travel back in time and see the successful landing, which will happen precisely at the equator of our party at 9.30pm! As this time the landing will be witnessed by many party guests, we should all take a group photo! Then, after the landing, your eyes will be delighted with a celestial and delirious view of the Moon landscape.

Competitions and prizes are awaiting for you! First, we encourage the guests to array themselves in special “Moon attires” (anything Moon related). Second, we announce the competition for the best LUNATIC. You will have to show your raving walk and dance – as you usually do during your Moon-trance. The winners will get remarkable prizes and admiration of the crowd!

Only once in Cambridge. Don’t miss the most surreal party ever!
