CURS Film Night, Парк Советского периода, 22 March
- WHEN: Thursday, 22 March, 8 pm
- WHERE: Video Room, Darwin College
Park of the Soviet period – is the small communist Isle in the middle of the tumult everyday life; it is the luxurious resort for those who miss the golden Soviet Times. The Soviet Period Park is a perfect virtual copy of Soviet reality, in which, however, entirely real passions flare up. The park is inhabited by Soviet monsters (as in Jurassic Park, the viewer is told that the Soviet wonders were created by the same Hollywood cinematographers used for Steven Spielberg’s film.) Live personalities from the Soviet era have gathered in the park, playing themselves; from the singers Joseph Kabzon and Palad Biul’-Biul’-Ogly, to well-known actors from the Soviet cinema like Clara Luchko and Vladimir Etush. It is an authentic museum of wax figures from the Soviet past.
