!!!BALTIC SEA VODKA PARTY!!!
It is now a matter of days before we kick off with our biggest event of the year. Believe us the chaos of preparation will deliver some glorious results. We know people who plan to travel all the way from London (and further) to make their appearance at the Baltic Sea Vodka Party. We certainly intend not to disappoint anybody and are trying to think all the details through. It is the one occasion we do all the work and you – our guests have all the fun and enjoyment.
The famous VODKA PARTY which has been so popular among Cambridge residents for several years now is back!

OPERA!!! – EUGENE ONEGIN
Opera premiere: Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, 19, 20, 21 February
!Amazing Premiere! The most remarkable Event of the Celebratory Year!
(Organised by the CU Opera Society, with contribution of the CU Russian Society)
The well-known Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece,
one of the most popular operas in the world will be performed
due to the heroic efforts by the number of Cambridge musicians. Conducted by Carlos del Cueto (his background among others includes studies in the Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory), sung by amazing Joanna Songi (Tatiana), Sam Furness (Lensky) and many other rising stars, this opera premiere will surprise and fascinate both educated admirers of Tchaikovsky, and the wide audience. Performed in a very professional way, involving high knowledge and artistic skills (not to mention great immersion into the Russian musical soul),

young artists are not restricting themselves from fresh experiments, bizarre and unusual actions (like dancing choir, dropping the shoes), which adds the emotion of joy and happiness to the gloomy feelings of suffering and sorrow, evoked by the ingenious music.
!!!CU Russian Society members enjoy the triple discount for the tickets, 6 pounds!!!
WHEN: 19,20,21 February 2009, 7.45 pm

HOW MUCH: £15, £8 (concessions), £6 (members of CUOS or CU Russian Society only)
The event-related information is available here.
Tickets: Corn Exchange box office (Wheeler Street, tel. 01223 357 851).
