About Us

Welcome to the CU Russian Society website!

… So Who We Are …

Cambridge University Russian Society (CURS) was founded in 2001 to bring together the people from the Russian Federation, the former Soviet republics and anyone else interested in the Russian culture and language. The list of our honourary members includes the famous journalist Leonid Parfyonov, the Russian rock legend Boris Grebenschikov and rock musicians Leva and Shura B2, and the Russian Ambassador to the UK His Excellency Yuri Fedotov.

Our society aims to provide an informal social network for those with connections to or interest in Russia. We organise a variety of events throughout the year including conversational evenings, film nights, concerts, talks, lectures and discussions, and, of course, parties and friendly get-togethers!

We have a nice forum which has proven to be very popular amongst the Russian and English speaking people in Cambridge, the UK and Russia. Please register your e-mail to receive regular updates about various events related to Russian and Slavonic culture and traditions.

We look forward to meeting you at our events throughout the year!
